Oklahoma City Thunder – Miami Heat – NBA action is back again. Heat are coming in Oklahoma without Wade and Hassan.
- The Thunder are coming off of a disappointing 100-99 loss on the road against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night. Carmelo Anthony missed two free throws to ice the game with seven seconds remaining before Marcus Morris drained the game-winning three-pointer with 1.2 seconds left to snap the Thunder’s six-game winning streak. Russell Westbrook finished with 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists on the night, while Paul George chipped in 24 points and 13 rebounds in a losing effort for the Thunder. The Thunder is mediocre offensively this season as they are 13th with an average of 106.6 points per game. Oklahoma City is 5th in the league in rebounding with 45.1 boards per contest. The Thunder is 29th in assists with 21.2 per game. Oklahoma City is 8th in the league in scoring defense as they allow 103.8 points a night. Carmelo Anthony is third on the Thunder with 16.9 points plus six boards a night. Russell Westbrook contributes a team leading 25.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 10.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game. Paul George adds 22.3 points per night.
- The Miami Heat won their third straight game on Wednesday night, defeating the New York Knicks 119-98 behind a monster game from Kelly Olynyk. Olynyk scored 22 points and handed out a career-high 10 assists on the night. The Heat remain just 1.5-games back of the Washington Wizards for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Dwyane Wade (hamstring) is listed as out for Friday against the Thunder. Hassan Whiteside (hip) is listed as out against the Thunder on Friday. We expect to see more minutes for Kelly Olynyk who make that monster game. I don’t believe he can repeat again a match like that against Thunders.
- Without Hassan and Wade, i don’t believe Dragic can can face Westbrook in this game. Westbrook is near to an “triple double season” so he will push his stats as much he can in every game. My prediction for Oklahoma City Thunder – Miami Heat is below.
Prediction: Oklahoma City Thunder -3.5, 1.60 odds.
