Chicago Bulls – Memphis Grizzlies is an chance for young players to step in and show their skills.
- Chicago lost for the sixth time in seven games as they were drubbed by Boston at home Monday night despite the Celtics playing without Kyrie Irving. The Bulls enter this contest 23rd in the league in scoring offense with 103.1 points per game. Chicago is 7th in the league in rebounding with 44.7 boards a night while standing 11th with 23.4 assists per contest. The Bulls have been mediocre defensively as they are 24th by allowing 109.4 points per contest. Justin Holiday is contributing 13 points plus 4.5 boards a game. Lauri Markkanen chips in 14.8 points plus 7.6 rebounds a contest, Robin Lopez adds 12.3 points plus 4.7 boards a night. But in Chicago are some good young players like Cameron Payne, Zach LaVine and Denzel Valentine who cand make some good plays.
- Memphis went down to the wire but ended up a bucket short in San Antonio as they ended up with their 14th consecutive loss. The Grizzlies enter this contest ranked 30th in scoring offense in the league as they average 98.9 points per game. Memphis is in the bottom third of the pack in the league on the glass, ranking 27th with 40.7 boards a night. The Grizzlies are 25th in the league in assists with 21.3 per game. Memphis stands 7th in the league in scoring defense as they allow 103.5 points per game. Marc Gasol is second on the team with 17.9 points and 8.5 rebounds plus four assists per game. Mike Conley added 17.1 points plus 4.1 assists a night. Jarell Martin (knee) is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game vs. Chicago and if he will play he will play less minutes than usual. Mario Chalmers (hamstring) and Andrew Harrison (wrist) complete the injury list for Grizzlies.
- Half of the Grizzlies’ players are out and/or questionable for this one. That leaves Gasol and a lot of question marks for Memphis at this point in time. Chicago is trying to test out their young guys to see who will be a factor going forward. And we can’t forget that Grizzlies are 5-25 on the road this season. My prediction for Chicago Bulls – Memphis Grizzlies is below.
Prediction: Chicago Bulls ML, 1.65.
