Brooklyn Nets – Cleveland Cavaliers in Sunday night NBA action. LeBron is in Brooklyn to continue his winning streak.
- Brooklyn hung tough but suffered their 12th straight loss to the Raptors and their second consecutive defeat overall with a road loss. The Nets are 13th in the Eastern Conference and are long since eliminated from the playoff picture. The Nets are 14th in the league in scoring offense with 106.3 points per game. Brooklyn is 28th in the league in scoring defense as they allow 110.5 points a game. D’Angelo Russell is the team’s leading scorer with 16.2 points plus 5.1 assists per contest: he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery November 11 and missed 33 games before returning against Miami January 19. Nets are already prepare for next season and they made some preparations already. Nick Staukas, D’Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin (who’s out for the season) and with one good draft they can make a good face next season with players who can grow.
- Cleveland won their fourth straight game and improved to 3-0 under interim coach Larry Drew, who is filling in for Tyronn Lue, by whipping Phoenix. The Cavaliers are 5th in the league in scoring this season with 110.9 points per game. The Cavaliers are below average defensively, ranking 27th in scoring defense by allowing 110.2 points per game. LeBron James averages a team high 27.4 points while collecting 8.6 boards and dishing 9.1 assists per game while Kevin Love is good for 18 points plus 9.3 boards per contest: he returned March 19 against the Bucks, missing 21 games.
- Cleveland is getting healthier as three of their injured players returned against the Suns. Even if Cavs are already in play-offs they need to keep it up because 76ers and Pacers are at just one game from Cavs’ place 3. They can force to finish 2nd now with Celtics’ Irving missing 3-6 weeks to avoid teams like Wizards, 76ers or Pacers in first play-off round. My prediction for Brooklyn Nets – Cleveland Cavaliers is below.
Prediction: Cleveland Cavaliers -3.5, 1.60 odds.
