Tonight, starting 19:00 GMT, we once again have the spectacular Eerste Divisie. Our prime game should be Almere – Telstar, a fixture that should provide a winning prediction.
Almere – Is 10th in Eerste, with 39 points from 28 fixtures, 50-54 aggregate. Has the 4th worse defense in the league, but often compensates with its attacking abilities. The form is terrible, with five defeats in the last six games, and the team has conceded at least a goal in 23 of the last 25 matches in all competitions. However, we must keep in mind that Almere also scored in 16 of the last 17 fixtures. On “Yanmar Stadium”, we’ve seen at least three goals in eight of the last 10 games played.
Telstar – Suffered a misstep this Friday, losing at home against Helmond, 2-3. It was the first defeat on home soil since that 0-6 against Fortuna Sittard back in late September. Telstar had also a series with just one loss in the last 11 games. Is now 4th in the championship, with 48 points from 28 fixtures, 58-53 aggregate. Has the 5th worse defense in Eerste, but still hopes for a second play-off round spot, if not first place at the end of the season. “Very disappointing, because we could have done great business. Fortunately we can revive on Monday,” said coach Mike Snoei after the Helmond match, according to the club’s official website. On the road, Telstar has scored in 12 of the last 15 fixtures.
Almere – Telstar – Prediction
After a 0-4 defeat in October, Almere is looking for retaliation, in a game that should provide quite a show for the neutral fan. Both teams are prioritizing their offense, as we can see from their recent history. The last match without at least two goals between Almere and Telstar was played in 2010. Two goals will be great for us once again, but distributed in both halves.
Prediction: goals in both halves, odds 1.40
