Valencia – Atletico Madrid is the first game of the day from LaLiga featuring to really strong teams. Both teams finished last season in top 4 and now at the start of a new one they need to take on each other again. The game will start at 20:00 and it will take place on Estadio de Mestalla in Valencia, Spain.
Valencia finished 4th last season before the three other big teams from Spain. Marcelino Toral’s team lost only one game in their preparation stage against PSV with 2-1. After that they only took great results. They managed to score 3 goals both to Leverkusen and Everton. Things are looking good from their point of view. This season they will play in the Uefa Champions League groups as well. Maybe they will prefer to focus much more on that competition. In LaLiga beside the three top teams there are not so many teams that could make surprises. For this one they are not favorites but they have the advantage of the home ground.
Valencia: Neto – Gaya – Garay – Paulista – Piccini – Wass – Parejo – Kondogbia – Soler – Mina – Moreno
Atletico Madrid are coming into this after winning the Uefa Super Cup. Los Colchoneros managed to win with 4-2 after stoppage time. They took revenge after the final of the Uefa Champions League that they’ve lost against Real. Now with a trophy already in their pocket they will have a much better determination. The main focus for them as well will be the Champions League that they haven’t won, but they have been really close. Diego Simeone’s team will be eager to win it this season but first they need to take on Valencia. I think that they will succeed and take home all three points.

Valencia – Atletico Madrid: Prediction
Atletico Madrid are dominating clearly the head-to-head encounters. Simeone’s team managed to win 4 of their last 5 games. One of them ended in a goalless draw. Last time they registered only a 1-0 win over their rivals. Now it won’t be different because they have a strong defence and with one goal or maybe two they will be satisfied. Both strikers, Griezmann and Costa are in a really good form as the second one scored a double in the Uefa Super Cup final. They both want to improve on their game and I fancy them to score in almost every game they will play. My prediction for this one is an away win with a really good odd as well.
