Olympiakos – Burnley is one of the toughest games from this stage of the competition. Olympiakos had a really easy game against Luzern where they won both games scoring in both at least three goals. Burnley had a much tougher draw against Basaksehir but eventually they won. The game will start at 20:00 and it will take place on Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus, Greece.

Olympiakos are heading into this game as favorites and they should not disappoint. It’s well known that Burnley is a hard nut to crack but they should take advantage of their experience. This is the first time for Burnley in this kind of competition in a while and the experience of the teams should make an impact on the game. Now with 7 goals scored in the competition so far it shouldn’t be hard to score in this one as well. The visitors have a really strong defence as we saw in the previous games but Olympiakos are not a team from the Turkish Super Lig which I consider pretty average.
Burnley advanced to this stage of the game really hard after a goal in the extra time in the second leg. They played with Basaksehir and they were dominated big time. The hosts from the second game managed to take a goalless draw in both games. Now they are here and they only have to make a huge step until the groups of the competition. Sean Dyche’s team lost in the weekend as well against Watford with 3-1 and things are not looking good from their point of view. A draw would be the perfect scenario for them but it will be much harder now.
Olympiakos – Burnley: Head-to-Head
This will be the first ever game to be played by these two teams against each other.
Olympiakos – Burnley: Prediction
With the bigger experience in this kind of games I strongly support a home win. There is no doubt that Olympiakos needs to win this first game at home because it will be just harder in England. They played last season in the groups of the Champions League against teams like Barcelona and Juventus and they done well. Burnley is a surprise in this stage of the competition but they totally deserve it. A huge surprise in the Premier League as well and why not, a surprise in Europe in a few years. My predictions for this one are below.
Prediction: Olympiakos to win, Odds: 1.60
Stake: 10 units
Secondary Prediction: Half Time/ Full Time Draw/Olympiakos, Odds: 4.30
Stake: 5 units
