Germany – France is the derby from the new competition, Uefa Nations League which is replacing the International friendlies. This is a really good idea in my opinion because teams will have a high motivation and in the end in 2019 they could fight for the trophy as well. The game will start at 20:45 and it will take place on Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

Germany are taking their first competitive match after the disappointing failure in the World Cup. They take on the new World Cup Champions and things are not looking really good for them. Maybe we will see another face of Germany this time but it’s quiet unlikely. The hosts of this game are the favorites but I can’t see why. Joachim Low’s team have a terrible form with losses against South Korea and Mexico, and a last minute win against Sweden. Without one of their best players, Ozil, they will have a hard time facing the best team in the World at the moment.
Germany: Neuer – Schulz – Hummels – Boateng – Kimmich – Gundogan – Kroos – Goretzka – Reus – Werner – Muller
France will come into this with their morale booming. They won the World Cup with 4-2 against Croatia and I think they are ready for a new season. Uefa Nations League it’s another contest they should win if they keep on this playing style. Didier Deschamps’s team have some exceptional young talents like Mbappe and with a striker like Griezmann it’s hard to lose a game. This is France’s one of the most powerful team. The visitors in this game have lost only one game in one year and I can’t see why the bookmakers are giving Germany the first chance for a win.
France: Areola – Mendy – Umtiti – Varane – Pavard – Matuidi – Kante – Pogba – Mbappe – Griezmann – Giroud
Germany – France: Head-to-Head

Germany – France: Prediction
I can’t see Germany recovering so fast from that failure from the World Cup. It was a big shock for everybody and with France winning it, I can’t see anything else but an away win. It’s true that the home ground could make a difference in such a game but with the professionalism in Didier Deschamps’s team it will be hard for the hosts to make a surprise. For a safer bet I recommend to go with double chance on France but an away win is what we all take in consideration. Everything points to that and Germany are not having what it takes to fight with the World Cup champions.
