Football Prediction: Barcelona – Chelsea – Uefa Champions League – 14-03-2018

Barcelona – Chelsea is clearly in the spotlight tonight and it’s the most interesting clash of the entire stage from the Uefa Champions League. The match will start at 20:45 and it will take place on Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain.

BarcelBarcelonaona looked to be facing a much more difficult task back in February, when they played  Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, than the one they have now. They went into the final 15 minutes 1-0 down, facing the prospect of having to play the second leg a goal down and without an away goal to their name. However, that man Lionel Messi popped up again with an equaliser, and now the ball is in Barcelona’s court. Last time out Barcelona managed to win and keep a clean sheet against the League strugglers Malaga away from home. Messi was absent from the team due to the birth of his child. He will be super motivated in this one and try everything to get a goal for his new-born child. Barcelona are now unbeaten in their last 14 competitive games since a shock loss to Catalan rivals Espanyol in the Copa del Rey. They bounced back from that first leg loss to progress in that competition, and they have won nine of their 14 games since that loss. As expected Barcelona won the group that they were in along Juventus, Sporting and Olympiacos. It wasn’t always a convincing display from them but in the important matches they were on top.

Doubtful: Sergi Roberto, Andres Iniesta, Nelson Semedo, Denis Suarez, Sergi Samper

Ineligible: Philippe Coutinho

Barcelona: Stegen – Alba – Umtiti – Pique – Roberto – Iniesta – Busquets – Rakitic – Paulinho – Messi – Suarez

CheChelsealsea is not enjoying a good form lately since they have lost to both Manchester’s teams in two consecutive rounds in the Premier League. Those defeats costed them the spot in the top four and they need to catch up their main rivals, Liverpool and Tottenham. Last game they won at home against Crystal Palace buy they didn’t managed to keep a clean sheet as they conceded a goal in the 90th minute. They had a hard group to qualify from, with Roma, Atletico Madrid and Qarabag. A second place was enough for them as they lost the first position in favour of Roma. . Premier League champions need to score if they want to stand a chance of going further in the competition and this promises a very entertaining clash. They are unbeaten for 9 straight matches against FC Barcelona and that could be a morale booster for them.

Doubtful: Tiemoue Bakayoko, David Luiz, Ross Barkley

Chelsea: Courtois – Rudiger – Christensen – Azpilicueta – Alonso – Fabregas – Kante – Moses – Pedro – William -Hazard

Barcelona – Chelsea: Prediction

Barcelona are favourites in this one from several aspects. They have been more dominant through entire season and they are enjoying excellent form, which cannot be said for Chelsea. Although the direct matches showed that Barcelona is really struggling against the side from England. They didn’t managed to beat them in nine meetings, from which four were at home for Barcelona. Chelsea must score to have a chance in this one and if they do that first as they did last time out a good defending should secure them the qualification. That is unlikely to happen but in matches like this anything is possible. Just like in the first leg goals at both ends of the net is possible and it’s most likely to happen again. My prediction for this one is below.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score, YES , Odds: 1.85
