After NiP and Vega were eliminated yesterday, Day 2 of the CS Summit will see another two teams leave the house as North – Heroic and Team Liquid – Torqued will fight for survival. The day will start with they two lowerbracket matches and will end with the clash between SK and Cloud9.
North vs Heroic
North (F.C. Copenhagen’s esports team) has had an awful Major last month in Boston, finishing bottom two and losing all their games against not so tough opponents (Vega, Astralis and BIG). They came at the CS Summit to show their real face, and so far they’ve looked really scary destroying Vega in Round 1 (16-5 on Mirage and 16-2 on Inferno). Their next opponents were the brazilian gods SK and even tho they’ve lost, North really put up a fight and almost took SK out in two very close matchups, 20-22 on Inferno and 13-16 on Cobblestone.
Heroic took out NiP yesterday in a close 3-map thriller. They looked very solid on their nuke CT side, with JUGi leading the scoreboard just like they had in their previous match against Cloud9 despite picking up relatively few rounds. Snappi, niko and MODDII retain the bottom three spots in both series, with es3tag stepping up his play as well. They are performing like a very strong Tier-2 team, with potential to sneak into the upper echelon of competition.
Overall North should be solid enough to take out Heroic here, even though all of their historic maps are close. Valde, mertz, and Kjaerbye are slowly becoming the team’s “core three,” and Heroic will need to take them down if they want a chance. Given mertz’s crazy aggressive playstyle as highlighted on HLTV, JUGi could find himself overwhelmed.
Prediction: North to win @1.60
